After the termination of the Dutch Choices label “Het Vinkje” last October, the Dutch junior minister of Health Paul Blokhuis recently announced in his Prevention Deal to start a stakeholder dialogue to come to a new voluntary front-of-pack logo to promote healthier food choices. This logo should be closely aligned with the Dutch dietary recommendations, as summarized in the Wheel of Five (“Schijf van Vijf”). In the chapter on obesity prevention in the same Prevention Deal more measures are announced, such as limitation of marketing to children, product reformulation and promotion of physical activity.
